NRRI Public Open House 2025

NRRI Open House to highlight MN’s opportunities

The University of Minnesota’s Natural Resources Research Institute is holding a public open house. This unique, applied research unit was established by the Minnesota legislature in 1983 to provide data driven tools and information to drive economic growth.

When: Friday, July 18, 2 - 4 p.m. 

Where: NRRI Duluth - 5013 Miller Trunk Highway / Hwy. 53 (Google Map)

What: Researchers and the leadership team will highlight exciting opportunities for Minnesota to lead the transformation of bedrock industries. 

Information Stations will include:

  • Minnesota's potential for geological hydrogen & critical minerals
  • New bio-based materials & fast-growing hybrid poplars
  • Business partnerships leading to local success
  • Climate change research & wildlife ecology & water remediation
  • The new Midwest Industrial Transformation Initiative (MITI)
