About
Dr. Balakrishnan Nair has a background in the treatment of emerging contaminants in wastewater using natural treatment systems. Her research philosophy focuses on preventive environmental management through the development of nature-based and sustainable solutions. She is currently doing her postdoctoral research with Dr. Bridget Ulrich to develop an adsorbent-based passive stormwater treatment system to address PFAS (SERDP ER23-3676). She is also investigating PFAS treatment approaches for other dispersed pollution sources (MPCA-funded project).
