Leah works as an aquatic ecologist in the Water Research Group. Her interests include freshwater phytoplankton community ecology, with specific emphasis in cyanobacteria harmful algal blooms (cHABs). Previous research focused on temporal and spatial changes in cyanobacteria communities and corresponding nutrient cycles of Minnesota inland lakes. Her current research includes phytoplankton and paleolimnological analyses of the lower food web in the Laurentian Great Lakes.
