About
Kara is a researcher in the avian ecology lab. Her work focuses on forest bird ecology and conservation and developing new tools—like environmental DNA (eDNA) — to better understand wildlife communities. She has worked on a variety of projects focused on Minnesota’s forest and grassland birds, including species of conservation concern and the habitats they depend on.
