About
Julia focuses broadly on management-based research of mammal populations, particularly small carnivores and bats. She also has a special interest in promoting the ethical and scientifically based method of conservation detection dog teams in various wildlife research, management, and conservation applications. Some highlights of her past work include a comprehensive research project of gray foxes in Indiana, examining perceived risk and survival of Eastern cottontails in restored grasslands within a highly modified landscape, and working with conservation detection dogs to collect data on turbine treatments in an effort to reduce bat fatalities at wind facilities.
