Jamie develops and leads a University-aligned external engagement effort to deepen community and Tribal partnerships and support legislative outreach at the state and federal levels. She is focused on leading engagement and strategy for NRRI’s recently-launched effort, the Midwest Industrial Transformation Initiative, in collaboration with state partners and national laboratories.
Previously, Alexander worked across the public, private and nonprofit sectors, including as a senior official in the Obama Administration at U.S. Agency for International Development (U.S. AID), and as advisor to the United Nations Secretary General leading up to the Paris Agreement. She most recently served as the founding director of Drawdown Labs, at the nonprofit Project Drawdown, where she led corporate and investor engagement on climate solutions, including on the passage of the 2022 Inflation Reduction Act.
