Bio

Britta works on a variety of projects encompassing many aspects related to water, microbiology, and bioremediation. Previously, her work related to the biogeochemistry of wild rice, as well as sediment microbial communities across the Great Lakes and how they affect biogeochemical cycles both spatially and temporally.

Featured Research Projects

This project will demonstrate the feasibility of the short-rotation woody plant-based phytoremediation to capture sulfate from lake water and manage water level by utilizing hybrid poplar.
