Stephen Monson Geerts is a Senior Geologist within the Minerals and Metallurgy Research Group at the NRRI. He currently manages the Mineral and Materials Characterization Division within the group and has over 25 years of applied research experience in northeastern Minnesota with igneous geology and petrography of economic deposits (NorthMet) within the Duluth Complex; mineral particulate matter characterization related to the taconite industry; and hydrogeologic and environmental experience in regards to mineland reclamation and drainage. He is also a Registered Professional Geologist in the state of Minnesota.
